Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to sign up?
Nothing: registering on the marketplace is free. Conversa earns money only through a 20% commission on the sessions you are paid for.
Who sets my rates?
You do, freely, for 10, 20, 30 and 60 minutes. We display benchmarks and the average price charged on the marketplace, for information only.
Am I required to accept the sessions that are offered to me?
No. An organization or Conversa may offer you a session; you accept or decline it from your dashboard, without having to justify yourself and without consequence. No exclusivity, no minimum volume, and you can pause your profile or leave the marketplace at any time.
How am I rated?
After a completed session, the learner rates five specific criteria: punctuality, adaptation to their level, speaking time, clarity of corrections, and session conditions. Your rating is their average; it is displayed once you have three reviews and is never used to penalize you.
Do I need a specific status?
To get paid, you need self-employed status (a micro-business is enough): your SIRET number is requested at sign-up. If you are an employee of a training organization, it is the organization that opens your access: you have nothing to invoice.
How does a session work?
In the video call built into Conversa: nothing to install. You enter from your schedule 15 minutes beforehand; attendance is measured automatically. The written report is optional: you indicate on your profile whether you include it in your rates.
What if a learner doesn't show up?
Attendance is measured by the room. For a session paid at booking by an individual, their absence does not cost you anything; for an organization, its own absence policy applies.
Why is my profile being reviewed?
To keep the marketplace high-quality, every profile (introduction, languages, photo, rates) is reviewed before it becomes visible. You will be notified by email as soon as it is approved.
